Train with the Hobbos

Training with the hobosTraining consistently is the core ingredient to improving your running and unfortunately it is difficult for many of us to keep our enthusiasm on our own.

The Hobbos has a great culture of training in groups and this is something you can take advantage of to really improve.

We have three groups training during the week and all training sessions are free.

Tuesday Nights from 6.15pm Join a track interval session where you concentrate on learning to improve your pace and stamina.  Putting you through sessions such as 5x 800 metres or maybe 10x 400 metres certainly allow you to discover a new side to running. These sessions on the track are proving very popular.

Started in 2019, we also have a Tuesday Morning Session. Its the same as Tuesday night, but for the early birds. Meet  at Newport Track 6:00am sharp

Thursday Nights – Various Thursday nights we have a track session, the same as Tuesday’s. See Facebook for validation of Thursday night run.

Sunday Mornings  – There is normally a variety of runs organised and advertised on our facebook page. One group runs regularly at Newport Lakes,  starting at lookout point 1. If you arrive late no problem just wait at the lookout and runners will come back passed in a short while. We run multiple laps so you can run any distance you wish with some running up to 15k or further.  We also have some members doing trips to the You Yangs and other hilly courses on the occasional Sunday, plus a long slow run along the Williamstown and Altona foreshore. Times, distances, and locations are on the  Facebook page, as we like to alternate the experiences, and are not guaranteed to attend each location on a Sunday.

All these runs will dramatically help your running and your wellbeing. The friendship and support you get from training with others of ALL abilities.

it’s a lap course and we keep coming past the lookout every 10 mins
so arrive anytime and meet us there.
